A Mangal Dosh Nivaran Anushthan is a Hindu ritual performed to alleviate the negative effects of Mangal Dosh (also known as Kuja Dosha or Mars Dosha), a condition in Vedic astrology. It is believed that when Mars (Mangal) is placed in certain positions in a person's birth chart (such as in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house), it can lead to challenges in marriage, relationships, health, and overall prosperity. The Mangal Dosh Nivaran Anushthan aims to reduce or eliminate these negative effects.

Key Elements of the Mangal Dosh Nivaran Anushthan:

1. Mangal Dosh: Mangal Dosh occurs when the planet Mars is placed unfavorably in the individual's horoscope. People who have Mangal Dosh are thought to face obstacles in marriage, health problems, financial difficulties, and other aspects of life.

2. Purpose of the Anushthan:
•To appease the planet Mars and reduce the harmful effects.
• To bring harmony, peace, and success in life, particularly in relationships and marriage.
•To improve health, prosperity, and general well-being.

3. Performing the Ritual:
• Start with Ganesha Puja: First, seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles and ensure the success of the ritual.
• Mangal Puja: The central part of the Anushthan involves worshipping Mars. Chant the Mangal Stotra or Mangal Mantra to invoke Mars’ blessings. A popular mantra is:
• "Om Kraam Kreem Kraum Sah Bhaumaaya Namah"
• Mangal Yantra: Place the Mangal Yantra on a clean surface and offer prayers. Chanting the Mangal mantra along with offering red flowers and lighting a lamp will help pacify Mars.
• Kumbha (Kalash) Puja: In some versions of the Anushthan, a Kalash filled with water, rice, and coins is placed during the puja to symbolize abundance and to invoke positive energy. A coconut is often placed on top of the Kalash.
• Aarti: Conclude the ritual by performing an aarti with a lit lamp while chanting mantras, seeking blessings for success and peace.

4. Special Rituals:
• Mangal Dosh Remedy in Marriage: This ritual is often performed by individuals seeking a good match for marriage, as Mangal Dosh is believed to create delays or difficulties in finding the right partner. Some people also wear a Mangal Dosh Nivaran Ring (red coral) after the puja as a remedy.
• Mangal Grah Shanti: For individuals facing challenges in life due to Mars, a Mangal Grah Shanti puja (peace of Mars) is done with the chanting of special mantras and offerings to neutralize the malefic effects.
5.

Charity and Donations: Giving donations to temples, offering food to the needy, or making contributions towards the welfare of others is considered an essential part of the Anushthan to complete the ritual and receive blessings.
The Mangal Dosh Nivaran Anushthan is a powerful and comprehensive ritual designed to mitigate the ill effects of Mangal Dosh in a person’s life. It brings peace, prosperity, and improves relationships, especially in the context of marriage. It is best performed under the guidance of an experienced priest or astrologer, who can ensure that the right mantras and offerings are made to achieve the desired results.
