Chaturthi Puja refers to a Hindu religious observance dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the deity of wisdom. prosperity and removal of obstacles. The puja is performed on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of each lunar fortnight in the Hindu calendar and it comes two in the month, one is in Shukla Paksha and one is krishna Paksha.

Significance of Chaturthi Puja :- 

1. Chaturthi (Fourth Day) and Its Significance. 
Sankashti Chaturthi is observed on the fourth day of the waning moon in each month. The day is considered highly auspicious, especially for devotees seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha to overcome obstacles and achieve success.

• Lord Ganesha's idol or picture: It can be a small brass or clay statue, or simply a framed image.
• Flowers: Preferably red or yellow flowers.
• Fruits: Bananas, coconut, and other seasonal fruits.
• Sweets: Modaks (Lord Ganesha's favorite sweet), laddus, or other offerings.
• Incense sticks and lamps: For light and fragrance.
• Betel leaves and nuts: A traditional offering.
• Water and other ritual items: A vessel for water, a bell, a conch, etc.

2. Steps for Performing Chaturthi Puja

Clean the Puja Space: Begin by cleaning the area where the puja will be conducted, as cleanliness is essential in Hindu rituals.
Place the Ganesha Idol or Picture: Set the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha on a clean platform or table.
Offer Prayers (Sankalpa): Before beginning, take a moment to focus on your intention and pray for the removal of obstacles and the fulfillment of wishes.
Recite Mantras: Chant the Ganapati Atharvasirsha, a sacred text dedicated to Lord Ganesha, or other Ganesha mantras such as:
"Om Gan Ganapataye Namah"
"Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha"

Offer Flowers and Fruits: Offer flowers, fruits, and sweets (like modaks) to the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha.
Lighting Diyas and Incense: Light a diya (oil lamp) and incense sticks to create an auspicious environment.
Aarti and Bhajans: Perform the aarti (a devotional song or prayer) dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Common Ganesha aartis include the "Ganesh Aarti" or "Sukhkarta Dukhharta."
Prayers for Removal of Obstacles: Ask Lord Ganesha to remove any obstacles from your path and bless you with wisdom and success.
• After completing the rituals, offer your final prayers, and express gratitude to Lord Ganesha for his blessings.

3. Special Observances
Fasting: Many devotees observe a fast on Sankashti Chaturthi, especially on the day when it falls on a Tuesday. The fast is broken only after the puja is completed,
Often with a meal of fruits and milk.
Reciting Ganesha Ashtakshara Mantra: "Om Gan Ganapataye Namah" is commonly recited during the puja.
