Story of her birth

Her previous birth name is “Sati”. She was the daughter of the “Daksha Prajapati”. She had been deeply devoted of Lord Shiva. She was married with Lord Shiva after long pray.

Once her father Daksha Prajapati organized a great yanja. In which, they invited all saints, Sages and Gods but they didn’t invite ‘Lord Shiva’. When “Sati” knows about it, she was very angry. So, she decided go to her father. Sati meet to Lord Shiva and tell about the yanja and said’ i can never bear your insult. So you kindly let me go to my father. “Lord Shiva explained “Sati”, but she didn’t calm after explaining by lord shiva, then lord shiva gave the permission to meet her father.

When Goddess Sati reached the place, where yanja was organized. There she heard bad about Lord Shiva. Even her father “Daksha” insulted Lord Shiva. She was very disappointed and angry. Then she sit in the middle of the fire of Yanja and died. When Lord Shiva heard of Sati’s self-immolation, he sent his servant to destroy the yanja.

In the next birth she was born as a Goddess “Shailputri” daughter of king of the mountain “ Himalaya”. She was also known as Parvati or Hemvati.
