Devi Brahmacharini is worshipped on the "second day of Navratri". She is the embodiment of penance, devotion, and discipline, symbolizing spiritual strength and determination. The name “Brahmacharini” is derived from “Brahma” (supreme knowledge) and “Charini” (one who practices or follows). She represents Maa Parvati in her meditative form, when she performed severe tapasya (austerities) to please Lord Shiva and attain him as her consort. Devi Brahmacharini had two-armed, clad in white and carries a Rudraksha mala and sacred kamandal. Goddess Brahmacharini is the store house of knowledge and wisdom. The person who observes the fasts and worships the goddess with full faith and dedication is blessed with happy and peaceful life.

It is stated that during here Tapa (penance) to get Lord Shiva as her yokefellow she spent 1000 years on the diet of fruits and flowers and next 100 years on the diet on leafy vegetables while sleeping on the floor.
